Why did we choose to do this together?

Why we choose to do this together!

Why did we choose to do this together?

Fit. Alignment. Felt Right. Intuition.

I (Tay Tay) was terrified of “Dr. Jay’s” title because who goes to someone to talk about the things that are meant to be stuffed down and hidden -- I took a risk. I took a chance because she seemed real and not a textbook shrink. Taking risks and chances with one another is the theme.

Trust and vulnerability are requirements of responding to the questions: how do we learn? what do we continue to learn? what does that process look like? how does it work? . Not being afraid of the list above  is so not easy. It can be fun though. Sometimes you simply take the chance and leap into the unknown. We are the best kind of risk to take. We're silly, simple, and real.

We go there. We get each other. Believe it or not it is her "title" that is allowing that to happen, and so much more. The multiple titles Dr. Jay holds are presented in a real-life and human way. The experience we want to bring to everyone is rooted in understanding and acceptance. We both have experiences & skill sets that inform our knowledge that sharing all the sh*t is not a number one choice for most of us. Testing your why, sharing your experience not knowing the outcome and we do it anyway.

Come as you are…

Thriving together is like throwing a wild party where everyone's invited, and the dress code is "Come as You Are"! Picture this: you've got five minutes to spare, but that's all you need because when you're with your ride-or-die crew, time's just a concept, right? So, you show up with your hair doing its own thing, maybe a coffee stain on your shirt – who cares? Because in this crew, authenticity is our middle name. We're all about keeping it real, no facades, just straight-up sass and silliness. We spill our secrets like confetti because ain't nobody got time for keeping things bottled up. From your wildest dreams to your most embarrassing moments, we're here for it all, cheering you on through success, failure, and heartbreak alike. And let's talk about being sassy and silly – that's our trademark! We crack jokes, we goof around, and we never take ourselves too seriously. Life's too short for boring conversations. We're all about that belly-aching laughter and those inside jokes that make no sense to anyone else but us. Because here's the thing: our quirks, our secrets, our successes, our failures – they all make us who we are. And when we come together, embracing every messy, glorious part of ourselves, there's nothing we can't conquer. So, whether you've got five minutes or five hours, show up as you are, because in this tribe, we're all about keeping it real, keeping it fierce, and keeping it fiery. And together, with our unapologetic selves leading the way, we're unstoppable.

Choose curiosity over judgment. It's a game-changer!

Dr. Jay and I were sharing vulnerable things with one another  yesterday. The courage to share and show up for one another is also tough. The real win for each of us was realizing the message: "Thanks for telling me. I see your sadness and I love you." Real. Vulnerable. Not easy, and worth it. Choose curiosity over judgment. It's a game-changer!

Keep it you…

Pep talks & a step each day out of our comfort zone is what we are committed to. Remembering our 'why' & firing our negative self-critic because smart fire always wins. Keep it real. Keep it you. Go after what excites you, feels a little scary & know your vulnerability & bravery can be the source of someone else's courage to do the same.

Less on that rewind button & use that energy to hit the 'play button' with all you have!

We've all wanted to hit the 'rewind button'… If I could go back and do this differently, said this, done that… yes, we are with you! Uncomfortable truth, we can't. It's not easy. We are challenging you and ourselves to focus less on that rewind button & use that energy to hit the 'play button' with all you have! Play all out. Hit play with the knowledge that you've gained from pain. Hit play with the strength & fire that remains inside of you. Hit play because what is important to you still matters & you can achieve it. Hit play because you have a light to share. Hit play because your story isn't over. Hit play because your past doesn't fit your future & where you're headed. Hit play on your favorite song and continue forward even if with  a side of fear because deep down, you know you deserve to smile & feel good - courage will always kick in & going forward will always be better than going backward: no matter how scary.

Launch your rocket…

Imagine life as a series of rocket launches. Sometimes, it is soaring to new heights, sometimes taking a nosedive. But here’s the thing: no matter how it lands, it takes courage to press that button in the first place. Standing tall means embracing the wobble. (Swag) You might fall again & again, but each fall is just a chance to bounce back higher. There’s no guarantee how things will go, & that’s part of the adventure. The rocket isn’t just about success; it’s about the thrill of trying, the bravery in the attempt, & the joy of knowing you gave it your all. Every time you launch forward, you’re taking a step into the unknown. It takes guts to keep going, to smile through the uncertainty, & to be kind to yourself along the way. Sometimes, tears will fall, & that’s okay. They water the seeds of resilience and help you grow stronger. The more you embrace who you are - your quirks, your strengths, your vulnerabilities - the more others will resonate with you, & the more you’ll love the person you see in the mirror. Standing strong in your values while being flexible in your approach makes life exciting. It’s like being an adventurer, facing fears not with dread but with curiosity. What’s on the other side of that fear? Maybe it’s a new skill or a newfound confidence. Facing fear can be fun because it’s a testament to your worthiness. When you acknowledge that you are worthy, you become unstoppable. So, launch your fcking rocket. Go for that dream, take that risk, and do the thing you never thought you could do. And remember, if you’re going to be up to something, let it be fun. Let laughter echo through your ups & downs & let courage be your compass. So, press that button & see where the journey takes you.

Use your energy to improve, not prove!

The courage to be ourselves, believe in each other, and when our doubt tries to creep in, we remind each other of our 'why'.

Slay & Tay 100-day Challenge…

Slay & Tay 100-day Challenge: grit, courage & vulnerability to honor my commitments & face fears head-on. Leveraging cerebral palsy as a superpower, I chose not to drink not for health alone but as a testament to unwavering self-belief.

Fitness became the canvas where I painted the portrait of possibility, proving that consistent dedication transcends perceived limitations. Through discipline & focus, I defied fatigue, showcasing the empowerment found in pursuing happiness without embarrassment.

Using cerebral palsy as a catalyst, I shattered stereotypes exemplifying that different doesn't mean incapable. Prioritizing personal values over external expectations, I marched to the beat of my own drum, emphasizing the importance of choosing what truly matters.

Progress, not perfection…

A year ago, I (Tay Tay) stood where you might be now – staring into the mirror, feeling lost and unsure, the love for fitness a distant memory. But within that uncertainty, there was a spark, a determination to reclaim what I'd lost. It took courage to admit that fear was holding me back, that I needed a change. And reaching out for help? That was the first step towards rediscovering my strength, my joy, my đŸ”„. It wasn't just about shedding pounds or gaining muscle; it was about embracing every challenge, every setback, with grit and determination. With each workout, each push beyond my limits, I found myself growing stronger, both physically and mentally. Alongside me was a team – my squad, my support system, led by an incredible trainer named Holly. Together, we shattered barriers and proved that anything is possible when you believe in yourself. The mantra "Just Try It" became our battle cry, a reminder that It's okay to ask for help, to modify, to push past insecurities without fear of judgment. Because in the end, it's about progress, not perfection. It's about surrounding yourself with people who lift you up, who see your potential even when you can't. So to anyone reading this who feels like they can't love fitness again, know this: it's possible. It's possible to feel the fire, the excitement, the joy of pushing yourself beyond what you thought possible. It's possible to look in the mirror and see not just your flaws but the hard work & focus to be proud of the change you see. Firing fear. And it's possible to have a team – a squad – who will stand by you every step of the way. Here's to embracing every challenge, pushing past fear and doubt, and discovering the strength you never knew you had. Because with the right mindset, the right support, there's nothing you can't conquer. Keep showing up, keep pushing forward, and never forget – you are capable of more than you know. And as Dr. Jay says, "you can start something new any day." Let's go! Holly, I can't wait to see what's in store for year two, my friend! Fast & furriest here we come
